Career Highlights
From talented sketch writer to daring stand-up comedian, Helen Bauer does it all – almost. (Just don’t ask her about that E in Economics.)
After moving to London after college, Helen balanced her time between her job in Accessorize, waitressing jobs, and spending all her free hours writing funny sketches, quips, and ideas for comedy shows.
After moving to Berlin at 23, Helen began testing out her material on the stand-up comedy scene, performing her sets in English (much to the bewilderment and perplexity of the German locals, of course.)
Her big break came in 2019 when her Edinburgh stand-up show, Little Miss Baby Angel Face, was nominated for Best Newcomer of the Year award at the Edinburgh Fringe festival, being selected as a nominee over more than 700 other shows and comics competing. Overnight, she went from Helen Bauer: aspiring comedian, to Helen Bauer: comedian extraordinaire.
Since then, Helen has performed at the iconic Soho Theatre in London, and will be going on tour around the UK this autumn with her show Madame Good Tit.
Now a regular feature on the small screen, Helen has also been a guest on Live At The Apollo, Stand Up For Live Comedy, Edinburgh Nights, The Stand Up Sketch Show, The Dog Ate My Homework, as well as Comedy Central’s Digital Fringe, CALM Gala and Dave’s Hypothetical.
What do the critics have to say?
“A personality that will fill a stadium. Mark my words, this girl will not be performing in small venues for much longer” – The Sunday Times
“Slick, sassy and super satisfying.” – Broadway Baby
