Straddled between France and England, Ian Moore’s humour centres on those hilarious observations about British culture that make you wince with recognition.
In addition to being an accomplished commuter, travelling from his home in rural France to the UK every week for 10 years, Ian has been a stand-up and headliner at London’s Comedy Store, plus a best-selling author. He is a respected veteran on the live UK comedy scene with over a decade of experience and was a regular act at Comedy Carnival in London.
Given his unique living arrangements, Ian has become the resident expert on all things Brexit – UK and European visa requirements, the perils of post-Brexit travel, trade agreements and general UK-EU bickering topics included. The Evening Standard describes him as ‘a cultured comedian’, and we tend to agree.
Ian Moore – Comedian Career Highlights.
Ian Moore’s career as a comedian has a lot of highlights – he is as respected as he is well-known for good reason.
Ian is the king of the UK live comedy scene with performances at the Edinburgh Festival and headlining the Reading and Leeds music festivals under his belt. Performing with other British stars, such as the likes of Jimmy Carr, Lee Mack and Catherine Tate, Ian performed in the ‘Just For Laughs’ Britcom showcase in Montreal and went on to headline the Worldcom show at the festival’s finale, which was sold out.
But it’s not just festivals where Ian Moore shines as a comedian. Ian has performed at corporate events big and small, before audiences of some of the biggest names in the business. Some of his highlights? An intimate stand-up in front of twelve Harley Davidson executives in a hotel suite and the daunting task of hosting a live Q&A session at a jam-packed Hammersmith Apollo before an audience of 3,500 people.
Ian is a face that has become well-known to fans of TV comedy shows in Britain and overseas. His sharp wit and entertaining punditry regularly appear on Dave’s satirical TV show Unspun, Channel 5’s topical Comedy Big Mouths, and TRT World’s weekly dissection of the news, Nexus. Ian is also a regular on BBC 5Live’s Fighting Talk and BT Sport’s The Football’s On, and a sometime co-host and frequent guest on TalkSport’s The Warm Up. His passion for sport and his sharp humour is a fan favourite.

From Comedian to Best Selling Author.
Ian Moore, comedian, is also Ian Moore, author.
As a writer, Ian is the author of his two best-selling memoirs, ‘A la Mod: My So-Called Tranquil Family Life in Rural France’ and the subsequent ‘C’est Modnifique!: Adventures of an English Grump in Rural France’.
His first fiction novel, a murder mystery set in – you guessed it – rural France. His comic murder mystery series includes ‘Death & Croissants’ and ‘Death & Fromage’. Ian’s fiction is about grumpy Englishmen abroad, hilariously struggling with cultural barriers and crime – a great summer read.
Wrapped in a superbly written narrative, Ian’s novels are released to much critical acclaim and are a treat for his audiences. They’re a way to bring his comedy home. His comic novels frequently feature in the best sellers list, and he has been described as ‘a brilliant storyteller’ by the Boston Phoenix.
When he’s not making people laugh? Ian loves making jams and chutneys.
